Google’s product manager, Ellie Powers, announced the release of Android Studio IDE at the Google I/O conference on 16 May 2013. Android Studio is based on JetBrains’ IntelliJ IDEA software and has been designed specifically for Android App Development.
Early access previews were available since June 2013.
The latest version can be downloaded here: http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing/studio.html.
It is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux.
